he Ceòl Na Pìoba Solo Bagpipe Competition is proud to be the first and only
Eastern United States Pipe Association (EUSPBA) sanctioned competition in
Shreveport, Louisiana. The competition will be held at the historic building housing
the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum located on Centenary Boulevard.

Ceòl Na Pìoba, pronounced as “kee-ole nah pee-oh-pa”, is Scottish Gaelic meaning
“Music of the Bagpipes”. So, with chanter in hand, tartan swayin’, and Scottish pride
held high, come out and celebrate the music of the pipes. Aye!

Each year, hundreds of bagpipers travel all over the U.S. to compete in Great
Highland Bagpipe competitions. If you have never seen a bagpipe or been to a
bagpipe competition, then you’re in for a treat. To get the most out of your
experience please follow this
link to see our bagpipe competition primer.

The Ceòl Na Pìoba Solo Bagpipe Competition, dedicated in the sharing of the
culture and historic piping art of Scotland, is open to the public free of charge.

graduate of the Institute of Piping and an accomplished competitor to include a 2nd
place finish at the Highland Society of London's Targe for MSR in 1973, 2nd in The
Strachan MSR and 3rd in The Highland Club in 1974. Lezlie serves on the EUSPBA
adjudicator’s panel and education board. She also has founded, with her husband
Gordon Webster, the New Hampshire School of Scottish Arts,
www.NHSSA.org,
which has cultivated competitive piping in New Hampshire and grown to include
voice, dance, fiddle, harp, and other cultural disciplines.

Pipe band association membership is required to compete in the EUSPBA
